Santorini Horse Riding Tours, Ride Through Volcanic Landscapes
Ride the black sand at Vlychada, or canter past the Saint Anna chapel at sunset. Beginners are welcome; experienced riders can ask for a gallop.
The farm sits in Akrotiri, in the south of the island. From there, you ride out across volcanic countryside that looks closer to the moon than the Mediterranean: rust-coloured ridges, white pumice cliffs, the occasional whitewashed chapel. Routes include the blue dome of Saint Anna, the long black stretch of Almyra, and Vlychada beach with its wind-carved cliffs. Instructors stay with you the whole way and match the pace to your level. Beginners walk. Experienced riders can ask to canter on the sand.
