"We had a wonderful time on our tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. The driver was very good as he knew the back streets to take. All in all, we had a great time and I would definitely do it again."

Planning a Santorini trip
The questions guests ask us most, answered straight. More detail in the Santorini guide and on our FAQ page.
- How many days do you need in Santorini?
- Three nights is the practical minimum to cover the north, the south and one trip out on the water. Four or five is comfortable and absorbs a weather day. Two nights means choosing what to skip.
- What is the best way to see Santorini in one day?
- A private tour of 5 to 8 hours. The island is small but the roads are slow and parking in Oia and Fira is severely limited, so a driver who knows which viewpoints are quiet at which hour covers far more than self-driving does.
- How much does a private Santorini tour cost?
- Our private tours are priced per vehicle rather than per person, from €220 for 3 hours to €400 for a full day. A family of four pays the same as a couple.
- Do I need to book transfers in advance?
- Yes. Santorini has fewer than 40 licensed taxis for the whole island and no Uber, Bolt or Lyft. Both the airport rank and the Athinios ferry pier clear within minutes of each arrival, and waits over an hour are routine in season.
- When is the best time to visit Santorini?
- May, June, September and early October: warm enough to swim, far less crowded than July and August, and considerably cheaper. Midsummer is hot, busy and expensive but has the fullest ferry and flight schedules.
- Is Marinakis Tours a licensed operator?
- Yes. We are a family-run agency based in Fira, EOT-licensed under 1167E70001128601 and operating since 2000.
