Rhodes (Filerimos – Valley of the Butterflies – Kamiros – Half Day)

All three of these important landmarks are situated on the green west side of the island. Firs we visit Mount Filerimos where once stood the ancient city of Ialyssos. We can also see the church of Maria Virgin built by the Knights of St. John in the 14th century, as well as the ancient church of Athena. On the same mountain top near by, a narrow path covered in cypress trees has the representations of the Holy Passions of Christ, and at the end of this path we come to a cross 17 meters high, which leads us to an observatory with a unique and magnificent view.
Next stop is the Valley of the Butterflies, which is a green valley that becomes home to thousands of butterflies in from spring through fall. Crystal clear water flows through the valley with beautiful waterfalls located around every corner.
We end the tour off in Kamiros one of the most important ancient cities. Art and sculpture has survived over three thousand years. Once the entire city was decorated in this art and statues. The whole architecture of the city was a model.
