Description
Duration 36 hours.
1st Day Leave Athens and drive South West until we reach the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive on and visit the Ancient Town of Corinth, where St. Paul lived and reached for two years.
The remains of the City, which include the Agora (market place) and Apollo?s Temple (6th century B.C.) clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times.
Continue to MYCENAE and visit the archaeological site and the tomb of Agamemnon. Through the plain of Argos proceed to Nafplion (free afternoon) Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
2nd Day , after breakafast , You will be guided to Nafplion, the first Capital of Modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI and the fortified islet of BOURTZI afloat in the middle of the bay.
Continue to EPIDAURUS and visit the ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Finally, drive along the coastal road of Saronic Gulf to Athens,
on the way a short stop at the site of the Ancient Port of Cehries, where St. Paul disembarked, will conclude the visit. Return to Athens in time for Dinner.
