Santorini Airport Transfer (JTR)
Fixed-price private transfers from Santorini Airport to every village on the island, from €30. Your driver meets you inside arrivals with a name sign. We track your flight, so a delay costs you nothing — and there is no meter, no surge and no night surcharge.
Why you should book this before you fly
Santorini has fewer than 40 licensed taxis for the entire island, a number capped by the local authority and unchanged while arrivals climbed toward two million a year. There is no Uber, Bolt or Lyft anywhere on the island. When two flights land together, the rank at JTR empties within minutes. Waits of an hour or more outside the terminal, in August heat, with luggage, are routine rather than unlucky. The public bus goes to Fira only, is timed to a schedule rather than to your flight, and has very little luggage space. A pre-booked transfer is the only option that guarantees a vehicle exists at the time you actually land.
- Under 40 licensed taxis island-wide
- No ride-hailing apps operate on Santorini
- The airport rank clears within minutes of each arrival wave
- The public bus terminates in Fira, not at your hotel

How the meet-and-greet works
Give us your flight number when you book. We track it, so delays and early arrivals are handled without you needing to contact anyone from the air. JTR arrivals is a single small hall with one exit, so meeting your driver is straightforward — they wait inside holding a Marinakis Tours sign with your name. Your confirmation carries a direct WhatsApp line to the driver rather than an office number. Waiting time is free for 60 minutes from actual touchdown, which covers passport control and baggage reclaim comfortably even on a busy evening.
- Flight tracking included, arrivals re-timed automatically
- 60 minutes of free waiting from touchdown
- Named sign inside the arrivals hall
- Direct WhatsApp line to your driver, not a call centre
- Child seats free of charge if requested at booking
- Air-conditioned Mercedes Sprinters for groups and heavy luggage
Arriving at a caldera-side hotel
Worth knowing before you land. Oia, Imerovigli and parts of Fira have pedestrianised centres, and a great many of the cave hotels are built down the caldera face and reached by stepped paths rather than roads. No vehicle can reach those doors. Tell us your hotel name at booking. We will drop you at the closest legal vehicle access point and direct you to the right path. Most caldera-side properties will send a porter to meet you there if you give them an arrival window, which is worth emailing ahead about — particularly if you are landing late.
Departure day
JTR is a small terminal running a heavy summer schedule and the security queue regularly outgrows it. Leave three hours before a peak-season flight from Oia, two and a half from Fira, and about half an hour less outside peak. Book the return leg at the same time as your arrival. Same-day return bookings in July and August are frequently unavailable, and that is precisely the day you least want to be improvising.
